A Chicago man is charged with murder after a deadly stabbing at a CTA station in the Loop as transit safety faces growing scrutiny.
A 37-year-old man was pronounced dead after being found unresponsive and stabbed overnight on CTA property in the Loop, Chicago police said.
A man was found stabbed to death near a CTA Blue Line station in downtown Chicago early Saturday morning. Chicago police said a 37-year-old man was found unresponsive with puncture wounds to the chest and abdomen in the 100 block of Lake Street just before 2:30 a.m.
CTA Blue Line trains are delayed on Friday morning due to Chicago police activity near a downtown station, officials said.
The 120-year-old station is one of the CTA’s most heavily used and serves the Purple, Pink, Brown, Orange and Pink Lines.
A police investigation is underway at the CTA Blue Line station in The Loop on Friday afternoon. A large emergency response was seen above the Washington CTA station on Dearborn Street just before 12:30 a.m. CBS News Chicago has reached out to the Chicago Police Department for more information.
